about the project

Devoted to researching the lives and service records of the more than 310 veterans who died in the service of their country during wartime, the Yolo County Veterans Memorial Project spans two centuries - from World War I to Iraq and every major conflict in between - and includes veterans from nearly every community in the county.

The project will compile both biographical information from research and photos and remembrances from the veterans' families into a book scheduled for publication in 2009. By illuminating the unique character and life experiences of each veteran, we hope to truly honor the great sacrifices these Yoloans have made for our country.

   The project team includes:

   Kristina Maggi

Head Researcher and Author of the Book

   Ted Puntillo

Project Supervisor and Veterans Service Officer for Yolo County

   Matt Rexroad

Project Supervisor and Yolo County Supervisor for District 3

Please view our list of veterans that we are researching and help us honor these brave Americans.
